Is IQ Option a scam?

IQ Option is a real broker that has operated since 2013, and the platform is built by Quadcode. Withdrawals are real: starting from ฿70, the app shows 1-24 hours depending on the method, one withdrawal is free each month and then 2%, and payouts only go to a verified method in your own name.⁷

Most scam reports Thai users run into do not come from the platform itself, but from third parties using the IQ Option name, such as the DSI case below and fake LINE groups posing as staff. The real risks of IQ Option itself are the products (options and CFDs can cost you your whole deposit) and the lack of Thai regulation.

The DSI case that used the IQ Option name

In December 2024, Thailand's Department of Special Investigation (DSI) sent a fraud case to prosecutors against a Thai company and its people who presented themselves as forex experts authorized to trade through IQ Option. They promised 240-540% returns, never traded, and caused ฿256.8 million in damage. IQ Option itself was not the accused party.¹¹

Fake staff and LINE groups

• IQ Option's official contacts have no LINE account and no Thai phone number, as of September 2026.
• IQ Option has no Thai "investment managers" who trade on your behalf.
• Deposits and withdrawals only work to and from an account in your own name; third-party payments are rejected automatically.
• Real staff never ask for your password or SMS code. If you are unsure whether you are talking to real staff, check official IQ Option support channels (Thai) only.

Are IQ Option charts fake?

Regular assets on IQ Option follow market quotes. Assets marked (OTC), such as EUR/USD (OTC), are over-the-counter prices IQ Option offers for options, including on weekends when the regular market is closed. According to IQ Option's official blog, OTC prices come from data collected across its own liquidity partners, so OTC charts can differ from charts on other websites.

That difference alone does not prove manipulation, and we can't independently audit any broker's price feed.
